Ronghui Chen: Freezing Land (Jiazazhi Press, 2020)

Ronghui Chen is a Chinese photographer and storyteller based in Shanghai/ New Haven, whose work focuses on China’s urbanization. Known for his interest in the issues arising from the position of the individual within the urbanization and industrialization of China, Chen published his first collection of photographs named Chen Ronghui, now part of China’s Contemporary Photography Catalog.

Carolyn-Drake: Knit-Club (TBW Books, 2020)

Her work has been exhibited worldwide and has been featured in various web and paper publications.

Caroline and Cyril Desroche: Los Angeles Standards (Poursuite Editions, 2020)

Los Angeles Standards is a photographic portrait of Los Angeles which offers a way to view the city through 15 typologies which identify this unique city environment. The 1300 photographs were taken between 2008 and 2012 by French architects Caroline and Cyril Desroche during the years they live in Los Angeles. They are organized in order to compare and contrast the design archetypes that they have identified.

Ecce Homo: Gian Marco Sanna and Santolo Felaco (L.I.S.A., 2020)

Ecce Homo is a fanzine that collects some photos of the works Spleen by Santolo Felaco and Red Area by Gian Marco Sanna.
Like the aforementioned works, this fanzine investigates about the human condition of our time by trying to represent the mood of the authors through images.

Ann M. Wolfe (Ed.): Anne Brigman: A Visionary in Modern Photography (Rizzoli Electa, 2020)

This main volume of a previously published slipcased edition is the catalogue of the major retrospective exhibition that took place in 2018 at the Nevada Museum of Art, and remains the first comprehensive book to chronicle the photography of Anne W. Brigman (1869-1950), one of the most important of all American women photographers.

Melanie Friend: The Plain (Dewi Lewis Publishing, 2020)

In the 1980s and early 1990s Melanie Friend worked extensively as a photojournalist, before focusing on the wider aspects of war through long-term photographic projects. The Plain continues Friend’s investigation of everyday militarisation, revealing how war is embedded in this most English of landscapes.
